It all started with a concept by Melbourne born designer & founder Grant Morris - way back in 1998 – to make beautiful, sophisticated, commercial grade soft furniture with real structure & practical beauty. Adult, sophisticated bean bag furniture for interior designers and architects - not just for kids.

Influenced by the creative Australian and NZ contemporary interior design landscape, fused with a relaxed lifestyle and a hint of Auckland café & urban culture, Grant and his design team dared to breathe life into a tired category with next-level lounge solutions.

Ambient Lounge® NZ are now part of a global company focusing on industry leadership and ground-breaking innovation within the soft furniture category.

The group have successfully transformed the humble (and often maligned) bean bag into inspiring furniture; inventing and patenting the Funnelweb™ bean filling zip & tip transfer system along the way.
